I have been wonderfully supported by the midwifes at Team Violet.  From my first appointment and all thorough my pregnancy myself and baby have been really well supported and looked after.  Even when I suggested that I was thinking about a home birth it was really well received and my midwife was so supportive.  

When labour started my midwife who had been through my whole pregnancy with me was there for the delivery and it was wonderful to have her there.  I just wanted to extol the virtues of the team violet system as I can compare it to the previous way with my first two pregnancies.  I thought team violet worked so well, having the appointments as home and having the consistency of the same midwife throughout was a blessing.  I want to encourage more midwife care to follow the same method as team violet.

Dear dracohj97

First of all I would like to congratulate you and your family on the birth of your baby. I am delighted that you felt supported and well looked after throughout your pregnancy journey and your home birth experience.

Community midwives try very hard to ensure that all birth wishes are achieved and are always feel privileged when they get the opportunity to share in such a personal experience. Team Violet are a pathfinder team in NHS Grampian and we hope to extend this model to further areas of Grampian in the future.
