"Phenomenal, Professional, Empathetic Team"

About: Countess Of Chester Hospital

My experience yesterday,  Thursday 21/7/22 1400Hrs, was sublime and worthy of of a Trip Advisor 5 Star review.

Prior to admission the pre assessment was incredibly proficient over the phone, rather than the  pre covid days of an in hospital appointment.

On arrival the receptionists were incredibly professional to myself and empathetic to an elderly gentleman who booked in after me, who needed the toilet.

The admission nurse, explained the procedure in layman’s terms, no jargon and calmed me down.

The dexterity of the cannula nurse was amazing, without me feeling a thing.

(I was hoping the next insertion would also be painless.)

Once in the procedure room The Doctor immediately became this calming voice of professionalism. His two colleagues were outstanding in my opinion. Supportive of his professional requirements and mine for moral support, in what could otherwise be a rather embarrassing invasive procedure, undertaken without anaesthesia. (My daughters are so proud)

Despite the confirmation of diverticula, the icing on the cake was to be assured that the colon, large/small intestine all appeared clear of cancer.

Please convey my appreciation to all the team in the  Endoscopy Department, not just from myself, but from all the other patients who try and fail to leave positive feedback. Your teams deserve better recognition.

Please ensure the above is escalated to the powers that be and cascade to the Endoscopy department.

Equally feel free to use the above in any feedback forums, having removed my NHS No.

Regards

Andy Spencer
