So my daughter took a rash at minight. It wouldn't disappear under a glass, straight to A&E at 3.50am. Didn't get seen until 8am. 4 hours and 10 mins with a 21 month old. Difficult was not the word.
The A&E is so cramped, people were coming in with fluid bags attached to them, not the environment you want your child being forced into. Coffee machine wasn't working. We had been waiting 3 hours and I went up and asked how much longer it would be, only to be told I don't know at the reception desk. Not a bit of care.
When we finally did get seen by doctors in the children's hospital bit, staff were fantastic. Co Down needs another A&E for sure. Maybe rethink children coming in at night. How it can be more accommodating for them.
I felt waiting times and environment were appalling for anyone, never mind children.
