"Phone appointment"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I had a positive poo sample and got a letter telling me that and saying I would be having a  colonoscopy. As I'd had more than 2 scopes that had been unsuccessful I contacted the hospital to explain this, and was told this would be passed onto the appropriate person. I had my phone appointment yesterday with a very pleasant staff member who obviously did not have the information I had given a few weeks ago.

As I was quite worried about all of this I was disappointed that I was no further on and have now to wait to hear about what has to happen although I am sure it will be a scan.I have had issues with my bowel for some time and felt that if my history had been checked it would have made that appointment more productive.

Dear Jangus

Thank you for sharing your feedback via Care Opinion.

I was really sorry to hear that your telephone consultation was not as productive as you had hoped it would be.

We would welcome the opportunity to look into this in more detail and if you think that would be helpful, please feel free to email me on pamela.gibson@aapct.scot.nhs.uk

With best wishes,

Pamela
