Following severe dog bite injuries to both hands, I was hospitalised requiring surgery and treatment at the end of July.
I was in ward 48, room 4 and from the moment I arrived the care I received was exemplary.
Every single person who tended to me- from doctors, nurses, cleaners, students, porters- every single person working on that ward during that time was amazing.
They took care of every need- no matter how small, kept me in good spirits and treated me with dignity during the time I needed extra assistance when I was unable to use my hands at all.
In particular, I would like to thank nurse Sarah M.
Her bed side manner is absolutely exceptional. She was so attentive and generous with her time and happy to explain everything she was doing (loves explaining a bit of data analysis after taking obs), was incredibly reassuring, patient and gentle and above all- she is so funny and keeps spirits high. No job was too small and she is truly an asset to the service.
I just want to express my sincere gratitude to every single person who assisted in my care and made an emotional, painful and undignified experience so much more bearable.
I am sorry I cannot remember every name and every role of the lovely people I encountered but I truly mean that ALL of them were wonderful.
Thank you so much for everything.
