I have been involved in varying levels of commitment with inclusion for the best part of 20 years. Whilst during that time many things have changed, often due to budgeting on changing local politics and funding but my recent experience is reassuring as the level of service available and quality of it has never been better.
I find that the staff are all well qualified and focused on providing the most effective treatment options in line with whatever is available and appropriate. Obviously some clients only engage because it is a requirement of things like probation or retaining their script. Lately it does appear that the other service users are all engaging because they, like me, are now at a point where just going through the motions achieves nothing.
For those who genuinely seek long term change, the staff are more than capable and definitely eager to assist us (clients) in our efforts to work the ongoing programmes and work towards a place of change.
