I have never had a problem contacting my Doctor via econsult service, the return phone consultation normally occurs within 24 hours at which time a course of action is instigated ie blood test, urine test etc. or refersl to specialist treatment.

Regular visits are arranged on a 6 monthly cycle to check the condition of heart, kidney and liver functions.

I have availed myself of the “my gp” and “NHS” apps which provides me with emails and texts from the practice confirming the date and times of upcoming nurse appointments etc. These apps also provide access to all of my previous treatments and much more, such as allowing me to read my own blood pressure regularly and forward this information along with height and weight data to the practice, this information is posted on the app - all very reassuring and time savings all round.

On the down side the telephone lines are constantly engaged in the morning ‘rush hour’ and it is almost impossible to book an appointment this way unless you are prepared to listen irritating piped music and pre- recorded messages telling you how busy the lines are at the moment and where your position in the queue.

During my visits to the Orchards surgery, I have found all staff members polite and friendly, the environment is pleasant and always clean and tidy.
