Was taken to the hospital at 1pm on a Friday, all the usual tests done and sent for a CT scan at 9pm. Admitted to a ward and a doctor came around 11pm to advise that I may need surgery to remove part of my bowel, scary indeed. There was no space on the Gastro word so I was put on the ENT ward. At about 3am another doctor came & said they had had a rethink and were starting me on steroids. Around 10am another doctor advised it was a bacterial infection and to stop the steroids. He said a doctor would check me again the next am. No doctor came and in the evening the Nurse managed to get a doctor to come at 10:30pm. Advised everything was ok, apologised for all the confusion and forgetting to check on me and that a doctor would come by the next morning and in all probability release me. Next morning no doctor, a frustrating situation. On the plus side the Nursing staff on the ENT were superb.
"Great Support staff, poor doctor / patient care"
