"Wait times are shocking!"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

My GP refered me to the A&E Team at Pinderfields. 26 weeks pregnant with a possible blood clot on my lungs. Registered my arrival, Friday 15th July 18:10 and at 01:25 on 16th July, I'm still sat waiting.

No reliable updates from Nurses. The treatment is absolutely shocking. Not helpful in anyway. Hard chairs. Freezing cold room. No comfort. If it wasn't for my pregnancy, I would have gone home long ago. Shame on you Pinderfields!!

Dear Jade

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your recent experience.

I am really sorry to read of your experience and from what you have described is not something we would want any of our patients to experience.

Unfortunately, we are continuing to see huge demand for our services which means there are delays in our Emergency Departments. We have also seen an increase in the number of patients testing positive for Covid-19 which makes things even more challenging for us. It is disappointing that staff were not reliably informing you with you updates and can only imagine how frustrating this must have been for you especially at a time when you must have been worried about your current condition.

I will share your feedback with the team as it is important we learn from our patient's experiences.

Thank you again and I hope you are feeling much better.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn

(Head of Patient Experience)
