I have a rare disease. I found a hospital in London that specialises in my disease.
I visited them and was advised by them I could be referred by my GP for treatment. I did this in 2018. I successfully travelled to 2 appointments in 2019 prior to a scheduled operation May 2019.
Belfast Trust intervened 5 days before the operation and cancelled it... saying it could be done in Belfast. I'm still waiting on this operation. I've had continued deterioration in my face...the operation was to prevent this.
I've lost faith in my treatment and don't trust the healthcare system... I did everything for first the few years that my consultant asked. I've found that since I've started doing what I want and my consultant has just dropped me.
I don't know where I am with my care now...
I'm depressed, anxious and my life is hard due to that decision to cancel that treatment. I feel I've been wronged.
