"2 x vascular patient."

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Blood vessel problems ( Vascular Ward 11a &11d)

(as a service user),

I was injecting heroin into my right leg near my groin, but I felt it was sore and thought I would be OK ill walk it off, but it got worse, so I called an ambulance and was taken to hospital where my main artery was terminated and now only have 25%blood going to biig my legs as they have both been done now.

I know I'm lucky as I had to sign papers saying I had a50%chance of surviving or losing my legs. Happy to say surgeons at QEUH fine a great job, I still have both legs

Dear russelljohn

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on Care Opinion it was very much appreciated.

I was glad to hear you were able to make it to the hospital before any further damage was caused and the surgeons were able to react in time to prevent you losing your legs.

This must have been a very worrying time for you so to hear the treatment and care you received was of a high standard.

I will be sure to pass on your thanks to the team who I'm sure will be happy to hear you appreciated their efforts.

Please take care

Kind regards

Kevin
