"Staff Services Customer Assessment Unit"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU)

(as the patient),

I was referred by GP yesterday to test for possible stroke or Bells Palsy. I was there for 10 hours so drained when I got home HOWEVER the staff in this unit, tried to keep me updated on progress of each step of examination (e.g. Bloods, CT etc) as well as trying to ensure that I could rest on a bed. However as my husband couldn't come in (understandably, they were so busy) - I preferred to wait in the Waiting Area with him.

Maybe put in some nice, soft seats in this area might help ease long wait times?

I had lots of time to watch the staff at work and believe me, they did. Lots of praise to the Nursing Staff, Radiologist and Porters.

Thank you

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to share your lovely feedback. The staff in the Combined Assessment Unit at University Hospital Crosshouse will be delighted to hear that you felt so well supported during what must have been an anxious time. I share your admiration for the dedication and commitment of every member of the team, often working in very stressful circumstances.

We have also noted your suggestion in relation to more comfortable seating and will review this.

With all best wishes for your ongoing recovery.

Linda
