Had an unexpected call to have my proceedure as there had been a cancellation. I had previously been pre-opped and prepared. I arrived at 10.00 on Tuesday 21st June and was quickly signed in. After a wait I was prepared for the proceedure, including special theatre wear. My details were checked many times. The surgeon and the lead anesthetist interviewed my and pointed out some technical problems.
As I went under I felt confident that all would go well. The ablation was completed and the bruising has long since gone. The puncture wounds for the catheter have healed very quickly.
I was cared for in recovery by a patient nurse who ignored my snoring!
My wife met me on the Cardiac Ward, and I recovered well. Sadly, on my way out of the Cardiac Area I began to vomit and go dizzy. No doubt from the anesthesia. So I found myself in Ward 38. Where I received more good care! after more assessments
I was sent to the discharge lounge where plenty of refreshment was provided. Unfortunately I confused folk regarding my transport home so I did not set off until after 8.pm.
My heart will settle down over the next few weeks I'm sure.
