"Great practice"

About: Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

Yesterday (06/07), I visited the Walk-in-Centre at Tameside General Hospital, because I had a rash on my legs. I was asked if I wanted to take part in a survey, regarding diabetes and I said yes.

I was then tested to see if I was diabetic and thankfully I wasn't. However because the number was 40, I was given advice regarding food and walking etc., which could prevent me catching diabetes. Due to the fact that I was once a diet cook, in a Bolton hospital and I worked under the supervision of a Dietician, I would recommend anyone to have the test and take part in the survey, if they are asked to do so.

Thank you for posting about your recent experience when you attended the Urgent Treatment Centre at Tameside Hospital.

I was very pleased to read about your experience including how you were supported by staff who gave you the diabetic test, and how helpful you found the advice about preventing diabetes.

Thank you again for sharing these comments which have also been directly sent to the team in the Urgent Treatment Centre.
