I gave birth to my 3rd child in January 2022 and really wanted to breastfeed him. I had tried and failed to breastfeed my 2 year old daughter in 2020 so this was very emotional for me.
I contacted the Fife Infant feeding team during the later half of my pregnancy and asked if I could have a chat through my anxieties about attempting to breastfeed.
During my 36th week of pregnancy, Kelly from the team visited me at home. She spent well over 2 hours talking to me about my anxiety and giving me lots of motivation too. I contacted Kelly 1 day after My son was born and she visited us many many times at home during the first month of his life. I know for a fact we would have given up breastfeeding again at a very early stage had it not been from the excellent care and support Kelly provided me with. She was always at the end of a text or phone call and always offered to visit us at home for hands on help. She was professional but also friendly and I felt so comfortable being able to dicuss anything with her. She and the whole team do a fantastic job and are invaluable to anyone who is breastfeeding. I have continued to stay in touch with Kelly and my son is approaching 6 months and we are still exclusively breastfeeding, which I'm overjoyed at and it's really down to the top class care from Kelly and the infant feeding team.
"Excellent breastfeeding support"
