"Misleading information on website "

About: Park Medical Centre

The website states that the online triage form can be filled in at any time for appointments prescriptions etc. This is totally untrue and can at best be accessed for 1hour each day regardless of the problem or request. I have mentioned this to staff politely but nobody seems bothered. I have tried to access it on many occasions only to read it has been temporarily suspended. This usually means till the next day. I would ask the surgery not to mislead patients in this way and make it clear when the online form is available and stick to it. It is very frustrating and dishonest to patients. Patients want to use the form to help the surgery but cannot use an unreliable and non existent for most of the day service.

Dear Patient,

Thank you for your feedback.

As with many other practices, patients now face difficulty in obtaining an appointment. Our online triage form is available for patients from 8am in the morning and once our appointments for the day and future weeks are full the form is switched off (prior to the form this was patients queuing on the phone only to get through and be told we were fully booked). There are days where the forms remain available all day but recently this has become less frequent as demand continues to increase.

We appreciate this is frustrating for patients and we continue to investigate and implement different ways of working to try and increase capacity of appointments but this has to be done within the financial limitations of the GP contract, which is becoming increasingly difficult.

General Practice is in crisis and needs our patients to help and support us in highlighting this to the Government – you can find out more about this at https://rebuildgp.co.uk/campaign-assets/letter-to-my-patients

If you wish to discuss your concerns in further detail, please contact Susan Rowe, Operational Manager on 01538 399152.

Kind regards

Park Medical Centre.
