I contacted the surgery on Tuesday 21st June in regards to new epileptic medication which I had recently been prescribed by my neurologist and she informed me that if I get a rash or any irritation to call my surgery immediately for advice so I contacted them on the 21st June, I was also in need of an updated sick note. I was reassured by the lady on the phone that I will hear back later that day or at latest Wednesday. Wednesday came and I heard absolutely nothing so again I contacted the surgery and I was assured that I will get a phone call back. On Thursday I emailed the surgery to ask for the practice manager to contact me urgently as I required some advice and because I hadn’t heard from anyone. I never received a reply to my email or a telephone call from the practice manager. I again contacted the surgery on Friday and I spoke to what seemed like a very helpful lady and she reassured me that I should hear back from a doctor as she put me down twice on the doctors list to try and show me as urgent. Later that day around 5:25 I received a call from the pharmacist which didn’t point me in the right direction for my advice for my medical issue, I asked him to pass on a message to a doctor to call me urgently as I required an updated sick note which ran out on Friday and I had been calling about it since the Tuesday, I did ask if he was allowed to do for me but he said only doctors are allowed to complete sick notes. I was told that he will get someone to call me back but being it 5:25 on a Friday afternoon I knew that it wasn’t going to happen.

I heard nothing on Monday 27th so again I contacted the surgery on Tuesday 28th and I was promised a call… I heard nothing back and we are now on 29th and I’ve had to call them back again today. I’m not holding my breath… I completely understand that doctors are busy but waiting over a week for a call back isn’t acceptable
