Yesterday I was advise to go to A&E urgently after firstly being referred to Hemel urgent care.
The triage nurse at Hemel was fantastic even thou you could see they were short staffed busy and under lots of pressure, she was honest and said they couldn’t treat me and advised I need to go to A&E asap.
Stoke Mandeville A&E was very busy with very long wait times which meant spending the night waiting on a chair and no beds available for per surgery which meant again waiting on a chair. However despite that every member of staff I came into contact with or saw talking to other patients was friendly polite and very efficient. The nursing staff, doctors, surgeons and anaesthetist that looked after me we all so compassionate and caring. I can’t remember all their names due to lack of sleep and pain killers but I would like to thank all the teams that looked after me.
They made the pain and discomfort I was in Bearable.
Thank you
