Wanted to say how overwhelmed they have been with the wonderful support from the district nurses and palliative care team at the Portadown Health Centre, after the passing of their father 3 weeks ago.
He passed away in May 2022. Initially, his symptoms were put down to old age, however, with a lot of pushing from family, the GP sent an ambulance, and he was taken for a scan which revealed he had a brain tumour. The service received from Craigavon hospital wasn’t great, incorrect information being passed on, dad being sent home with fractured ribs but not communicated to family, which resulted in him having to go back into the hospital. However, there were a couple of nurses within the hospital that were lovely.
Specific mentions to Lyndsey – sister district nurse, Vikki – A registered nurse who was a superb nurse and caring girl, Stephanie who arranged and fought for his care package when home. Dr. Magill, the GP who visited dad a couple of times, and visited family after dad had passed away.
Thanks also to the Home Trust Carers and Marie Curie nurses for their round the clock care.
