"Minor injury treatment at Perth Royal Infirmary"

About: Perth Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

Travelling up to see my Mum I'd stopped for a walk. To pull myself up a bank back onto the road I grasped what I thought was a fixed gate but it swung back and hit me in the head - hard. Walked into Perth minor injuries unit with a nice 3cm long 4mm wide gash in my forehead and was treated so well start to finish. The receptionist lady struggled to get her system to accept that I'd moved from Scotland to England (!) but was good humoured and polite throughout. The triage lady checked the wound in minutes from arrival and said I needed stitches and the Nurse Practitioner lass provided these very competently and I was out in under an hour. Sorry ladies - I didn't take in any of your names but wanted to say a big thank you to you all. While I was there I was half hearing staff dealing with other patients - always calming and reassuring and you could hear the patient's voices becoming less stressed and comforted as they worked. Well done!
