At the Borders General hospital I gave birth to my little girl via an emergency c section. It was terrifying as she was 4 days early and I had bad blood pressure and her heart rate kept dropping being the best action was a c section Dr Nat explained everything perfectly. I had already been in the hospital 3 days after being induced, they even arranged for a private room so my partner could stay as mentally I needed the extra support. The team we had was epic, midwifes Camae, Anne, Christina (she was with us through my whole labour and even made sure my hair was tied up properly), Emma, Susie, Ceilidh (student, helped me shower after birth), Melissa and all the ward 16 midwifes, Nick ICU, Scott in theater and the wonderful nurse team in theater, we can't thank them enough for supporting us through this journey. Every step of the way we had someone there to help us, answer questions even showing us how to bath our little girl and comfort us when it all got too much.
They are all unsung hero's!! Although this labour was far from what I imagined, it was a very positive experience.
Thank you
