My dad has lung cancer and since diagnosis in June 2021 he has spent a considerate amount of time as an impatient. Following his treatment of radiotherapy, In April dad become unwell and attended his local emergency department. He remained there overnight and there was a lack of beds in the ward. We were very content that all investigations were carried out whilst daddy was in the E.D, however daddy whished to go home. Thankfully he was lucky to meet the criteria to be nursed at home by the hospital at home team caring for him. Daddy had his IVABS administered 3 times daily, in the comfort of his own home. He received excellent care from such a brilliant team. It was a complete game changer. For us as a family. I would recommend this service to everyone who meets their criteria and sincerely hope that this team becomes a permanent service to our local community. Well done hospital at home team we cannot praise or thank you enough.
