"Miscarriage"

The staff within the Rubislaw Ward at AMH were exceptional throughout the hardest time of my life. My first missed miscarriage. 

After finding that our baby had no heartbeat, Megan went out of her way to make sure we had as much information as possible and no pressure about making decisions.

We opted for the at home medical approach. When we made the appointment to go In and get the tablets - Megan was so compassionate. She told me to phone if there was any questions I had. Unfortunately this round of tablets didn’t work. I went back in to get another round of tablets which also didn’t work.

I called the hospital and informed them of this to which I made the decision to get the surgical treatment to end this pregnancy. This was the Friday and they informed me the earliest date would be the following Thursday. I was distraught. 

Karen was lovely on the phone and said she would see what she could do. She then called me back later that day and said someone would phone me in the morning and hopefully get me in over the weekend. Which was such a relief.

I got the call Saturday morning and was told to go in as soon as.

When I got there I found out Megan was on shift and this made me feel so much more at ease knowing she would be looking after me.

The whole team from anaesthetist to the surgeons were so supportive.

Megan has supported us through any questions we’ve had. She’s a very knowledgeable and lovely lady.
