My sick elderly mother has caught covid. An ambulance came out to her on friday eveing and they were going to take her to hospital. But was advised by a doctor on 111 that there is a covid team that will call us in 6 hours and will be able to help with meds. So it's been over 6 hours and I call 111 to find out whats happeneing. They reassure me someone wil call. Another hour goes by and I call again and say I'm not ending this call untill someone has confirmed what's hapoeneing. Then after being on hold for half hour. They finally tell me the covid team is closed weekends. So one was actually going to call Mr back at all. So my mum should have gone to hospital 8 hours ago with the ambulance. Its just disgusting how wrong 111 get it everytime. Shes been waiting for a call for 8 hours now from a service that won't actually even contact you till a weekday.
