"Fantastic care not great food"

About: Warwick Hospital

I was in the outpatient surgery ward yesterday for a gynaecological surgery. The doctors, nurses and anaesthesiologists were amazing! I ended up staying over night on the 23 hour ward. The nurses were amazing especially Caroline, who stayed with us overnight and she was the only one on and she’s a superstar! It’s not even her normal ward.

The one and only issue is the food! We are all on mega doses of pain meds that bung you up and all I was given was toast for breakfast! No juice, just sugar water, cordial, which is fake coloured sugar. This is not conducive to healing. Plato said,”let food be thy medicine” hundreds of years ago. He was right! It’s shameful to be such a wonderful health facility with top notch doctors, nurses and staff and have really unhealthy food. Really should have something a lot healthier like fruit and yogurt, eggs and spinach!

Lunch was just as bad! Beef Lasagne,Pork Sausages or potatoes.

Over cooked veg, colour was not evident any longer and custard custard custard!

What about fresh salads, vegetable soups, roasted chicken?

Veggie options that are healthy! Not Quorn products!

Patients need things that will help the digestive systems get back to normal not bung them up more and cause piles so they have to return to the hospital to have their piles sorted out!

If Warwick Hospital could sort this out then they would be the BEST hospital in the NHS.
