"Grateful to the staff who cared for me"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Emergency department

(as a service user),

This year saw me experience a low depression after very traumatic years. It was a hard place. Sadly I reached the point where I felt life wasn't worth living & acted on this.

Today I live with so much gratitude and thanks to the staff especially in the ED at Altnagelvin (including Aisling, Dr Murray, Naompoela, Denise, Dr Amy, Nurse Amy, Colum, Lauren, Catherine) for every effort they made in protecting my life on more than one occasion and for their interventions both medically and emotionally.

Everyone who worked with me were so so good, professional and caring. I cannot remember all the names but you know who you are, I appreciate you. Also, my heart is grateful to Dr. Ryan, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, who has supported me in very difficult times. An outstanding and kind professional. I simply wouldn't be here if it weren't for some of the amazing team in the WHSCT caring for me when I couldn't care for myself. Thank you, always. I am so grateful to be alive.

encourage people to share their experiences of health and social care, what matters to you, what you particularly liked or disliked so that we can share with the relevant department, and staff .
