"Outstanding care"

About: Ipswich Hospital

Following an accident at home that resulted in a broken femur I had a partial hip replacement performed the day following admittance. The care and attention given by the team in Martlesham Ward was exceptional and although I was only in hospital for four days, I feel I could not have been looked after better. Everyone I met, the nursing and surgery team and all the support staff, treated me as an individual. They showed attentiveness mixed with cheerfulness that brought confidence that I was going to make a good recovery and regain full use of my leg. Seven weeks after surgery I am walking reasonably well and able to drive again. I believe after a few more weeks I should be back to full fitness. The NHS sometimes comes in for a lot of criticism but from my own experience I could not have been looked after better. This is obviously down to the caring staff and skill of the surgeons. I would just like to say a very big THANK YOU to all of them.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your kind words regarding your recent partial hip replacement on Martlesham ward. I have passed your comments onto the ward Sister to share with the wider ward team and I know they will be thrilled to see how they have had such a positive impact on your care and overall experience. I hope you are continuing to make a good recovery at home. Many thanks
