My dad was admitted to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for a suspected chest infection/fluid build up. During his stay he received tests and scans and was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Unfortunately after 4 week in hospital he lost his fight and passed away.
Our family were absolutely blown away with the care and attention not only did our dad receive but us also. My mum, sister and myself spent our days and nights beside our dads bed. The staff were amazing. Nothing was ever a bother.
Our dad complimented the staff all the time and several grew very fond of him. Every step of our journey was helped by the staff, any worries or concerns we had were answered openly and honestly. To all the staff in C4 and any others that cared for our dad during his stay, we would like to extend our huge appreciation to you all. You all were truly amazing, from the domestic who sang along with our dad, the ladies who brought his cups of hot chocolate and meals, to the healthcare assistants who looked after his personal needs, the nurses who ensured he was pain free to the specialists who ensured his medication regime was adequate for his needs, we thank you all.
