I recently attended A&E on a Sunday. I expected a long wait as it was quite busy but didn’t mind as I knew there were others needing more urgent medical care before myself. I was triaged, treated and sent home with a prescription all within 5 hours which to me was excellent considering how busy the place was.
When I went through to minors it was extremely busy. One nurse in particular who sorted my IV drip (I believe her name was Laura, she is a newly qualified nurse according to her lanyard) was beyond amazing. She was so kind, calm and patient. I observed more than one patient be rude to her complaining about having to wait for a while and she very patiently reassured them, apologised and explained the waits. She was working under extreme pressure due to the volume of patients and is a credit to her profession. There was another female nurse too who was also lovely and helpful. And the dr who saw me was also great. I just wanted to give credit where it’s due, thank you!
"A credit to her profession"
