No words to describe my feelings after being told and reassured by the consultant there was nothing to worry about. My problems began approximately 6 months before the pandemic. In December 2021 I provided blood and stool samples and received a letter which I still have saying my pancreas was working well.
I then had a follow up telephone call and I told the doctor I still was unwell. I then got sent for a biopsy only to be told I had pancreatic cancer I know it’s a difficult disease to detect but I fail to see how a tumour could grow to 5 cm in such a short time especially as I have now been told by other professionals that a cyst could be the start of the cancer. I was hoping for a operation but to date I was told it’s not possible. I placed my trust in the specialist, however I wish I had gotten a 2 opinion.
I have received excellent treatment from the Ricky Grant unit and oncologist at Oxford university hospital gave me the MR linac radiotherapy so I’m trying to be hopeful
