"12 hour wait in A and E for a stroke"

About: Kettering General Hospital

12 hour wait in A and E seen by 6 different drs/nurses all having to explain the same story. Posters everywhere claiming a suspected stroke must be put first but they showed very little urgency for me. I even went to ask the receptionist after 10 hours and she said they knew I was the longest waiting patient. Really not great for a stroke! Sent home for a next day MRI that I told was booked for me, arrived at MSDEC to be told I have to wait all day to be assessed again for a potential MRI.

Dear Anonymous,

Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback about your recent experience. We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience in our Emergency Department, in particular around the waiting times that you experienced.

This feedback has been passed on to the team, and if you would like to discuss this further, we have a dedicated PALS team who can help you with any questions.

Kind regards,

L Jones - Patient Experience Manager
