My family and I would think to thank every single staff member in Children's ED, resus and ward C2 for looking after my 1 year old son. They litteraly saved his life after he had severe croup which came on suddenly on Tuesday 23rd may 2022. We were brought in by ambulance and seen by a doctor within around 10 minutes. Doctors thought he would have one dose of steroid and would be fine to go after a while, unfortunately this wasn't the case and after a nebuliser had also failed to help him, within minutes we were rushed to resus where a whole team of multi disciplined doctors, nurses and consultants rushed around him from paediatrics, intensive care and a few others. It was very difficult and distressing to see my son go though a very difficult time to see him have to have adrenaline twice to help him breathe and I was told he may have to be ventilated and transported to another hospital. However, fortunately it didnt have to come to that and thanks to the actions of ALL of those members of staff who work in those departments my son is still here with us today and is recovering well at home. All of the staff on the ward were brilliant with him, Honest and open with me and his mom and were professional and courteous until the moment he was discharged. I'd also like to thank the cleaning staff lady who alerted a nurse for me when I couldn't reach the emergency button because my son was in a comfortable position where was just about able to breathe.
There was also some guidance from Birmingham children's hospital regarding his care over the phone so I'd also like to thank who ever helped there aswell.
Front the bottom of our hearts to all of the staff in all those departments...THANK YOU!!
"Amazing staff can't thank them all enough!"
