I damaged a finger when I came off my bicycle on a Sunday morning.
From the immediate concern of the young chap on reception at Stirling Minor Injuries Unit, to the exemplary care of the treatment nurse and subsequently the careful attention of the on-call orthopaedic surgeon at FVRH, I have nothing but praise.
Ruth, the nurse at MIU was wonderful, calming and comforting, notwithstanding my persistent curiosity. She was correct in her professional instinct that a referral was required and the high standard of her preliminary treatment and dressing of the wound was remarked on by Matt, the surgeon, who repaired a tendon with great care, taking time to explain what was happening both to me and a junior colleague. When I interrupted his work by fainting (from light headedness, having not had anything to eat for several hours), Matt went to the waiting room and called my wife through to give me support and then arranged an emergency specialist physio appointment to ensure a quick return to full function.
"Nothing but praise"
