I received a card asking for my feedback and well it is all negative. I had an appointment booked with my consultant but they were unavailable and so I saw a different doctor. To begin with they couldn’t pronounce my name so while in the waiting area I had to ask if they were looking for me! I could barely understand them throughout the appointment but after waiting since April 2021 for this follow up appointment and as I knew I needed to have a rectal examination I persevered.
I asked for my PSA readings and was told it was 3.8, I said that’s great and asked for my previous readings to compare. They turned the screen of the computer towards me so that I could take a look for myself and it was not me, it was not my patient records!!! Which meant before I entered the room for this long awaited appointment this consultant had briefed them self on an entirely different patient and given me an health update for someone else!
I gave them my National Insurance number but then the system went down, and it took a further 10 minutes to get back online.
Having prostate cancer, knowing my previous appointments and what I should have been asked, I felt that I was the one leading this appointment, telling them what was needed and feeling that I knew more about this than them.
As an intelligent man myself working in a highly respectable position I know the value of communication and ability and how this mistake could have led to more serious issues.
I have no trust in this person at all and do not wish to see them again
"Negative experience"
