"Real lack of knowledge of trans patients"

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

I first sought help from the gynecology department 3-4 years ago and i have felt misunderstood everytime. I know as a transgender man they may not be in the right place to support me but with very limited knowledge of how testosterone affects me i was left to go elsewhere to find an NHS clinican with knowledge of transgender folk. The hospital really lack understanding on testosterone and got me to have regular ultrasounds which i have now found out from my other consultant that this was totally unnecessary. This just left me with additional stress. I understand this department would be excellent if you were a cis female but in my experience, i would not recommend this service.
