Took my blood pressure using their dirty machine in reception 3 times. Receptionist said it was high so need to do it again, i did and it was even higher. I was asked to come back several times over nxt week to repeat the test. I said no as i have a demanding job and no time to do so. I asked if i could make an appointment to have my BP taken properly by the nurse since it was high and was told that they don’t do that. So I guess we’ll wait until i collapse for them to take further action. Considering my BP was needed for a medication review (which was done via phone) and i was given the medication two weeks before i had even been able to go and take my blood pressure says alot.
Next up. I had a phone call with the Dr two days ago, i asked for my medication to be sent to the pharmacy next door. I visited the pharmacy who showed me their screen to show they clearly had not received a prescription for me and to check next door in the health centre. Back i went to the health centre. The receptionist could see the prescription but the Dr, who is a locum was not working today had not issued it despite telling me I could go an collect it after our phone call. Now i have to wait another 72 hours until i can go back to collect my medication. No sense of urgency, no trying to do something for the patient to resolve the issue in both scenarios. Honestly the Drs and the policies need to be looked at. What is the threshold when a patient is presenting with a high BP despite never ever having high BP in their life? If they can’t return several times over the next several days? Just leave them to get on with it then. Seriously annoyed big time.
