"Good surgery poor aftercare "

About: Circle

My husband had a knee replacement at Circle Hospital - surgeon and his team fantastic however discharge procedure and aftercare leaves a lot to be desired - I rang up after husband was discharged less than 48 hours post op and asked for a doctor to call me back as my husband was in agonising pain ! No call came and staff on the ward didn’t seem to appreciate my concern

I have rung again this morning ref the discharge notes which failed to advise how many days post op the dressing needed to be changed as it was unclear on the discharge notes

When being discharged I had to ASK for a wheelchair and for his sick note which had previously been requested

At discharge no information was provided by the discharge nurse as to when he had had his last lot of meds and I wrongly assumed this would be included I. His discharge notes ! To say the staff on the ward were laid back is very disappointing because the hospital itself the room the food the surgery team were fantastic but discharge and aftercare communication really needs to improve
