"The care I was given"

About: Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 1 (Emergency Medical) Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was admitted to AU 1 at the Victoria hospital with an infection in my leg. They took bloods and I and others where left sitting in a chair in the red zone for about 14 and a half hours until we got beds the next day. I was moved to ward 53 where the staff where amazing, could not do enough for me.  After I had been in a week, one of the nurses in charge (I can’t remember her name - I called her Molly), arranged for me to get a bacon roll. I have to say that I had a little tear in my eye when I was eating it. It was the best thing ever. Everyone one who looked after me were amazing and I could not thank them enough. So from the bottom of my heart thank you ❤️❤️

Dear Patient 53

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback, we really appreciate it. We understand that being in hospital can be a daunting and uncertain experience. It is lovely to hear that the teams supported you so well during your stay. I will ensure that the teams see your feedback. Molly has really demonstrated kind and person-centred care, I am also in awe of this, thank you again for sharing this lovely experience with us. I do hope you are keeping well since your discharge from our care.

Please take care. Jamie Doyle.
