I'd been referred to Ealing IAPT by my GP at the start of the year, as I had burnt out due to overworking, stress, worrying and not being able to switch off.
Therapy was provided by Natasha, who gave me an assessment call shortly after I'd been referred and felt very low and barely able to function. She was excellent at listening to my problems and made me feel at ease, as she gave me time to explain and didn't rush me, which was a great help.
I then had 6 follow-up sessions with Natasha every 2 weeks, where we discussed different methods to identify areas where I could apply techniques to help change my mindset at dealing with my workload, other colleagues, setting boundaries, making time for myself and better sleep techniques.
The sessions were excellent - bitesize with enough time over the two weeks to put things to the test and really appreciate how they improved my health and general wellbeing mentally. Natasha would then discuss progress and improvements in the following session, and set another approach to learn and factor into life.
By the end of the 6 sessions, I felt confident enough to return to work and have started to set boundaries, making sure I leave on time and have time for myself so that I can unwind, and any worries that may arise I can reflect on and determine if they are unfounded or if they need me to identify what I may need to do as they are genuine and need action.
This has made such a difference to me mentally, and along with the support I'm receiving from my employer, I feel more positive about work and life in general than I have for the last 20 years as I'd been overworking and not taking care of my own needs and health during this time while my focus was on my work and the customers I serve in my job.
I really can't thank Natasha enough for all of her help, Ealing IAT is tremendous and I'd recommend their services to anyone needing therapy services and help with mental health issues.
"Excellent therapy service"
