"Our IVF journey"

About: Borders Community Services / Community Maternity service Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as a parent/guardian),

Once finding out our first round of IVF was successful, shortly after we where given a community midwife, Mieke. She has been amazing from start to finish, has always been at the end of the phone when I've needed it. She made me feel very at ease when around her, made us smile and laugh. She is absolutely amazing at her job and anyone who gets assigned her as there midwife is extremely lucky.

Was in the hospital for 1 night, the midwife's there where lovely. Very polite and well mannered when ever I had any questions. Helped when I needed it and didn't bug me when I didn't. Was home in the evening the following day with our baby boy. Grateful for all the midwife's that has been with us throughout our exciting experience. Thank you all.

Dear Chelsieher

Congratulations on the birth of your son and I am delighted you had a successful first round of IVF. I am pleased you felt supported by your community midwife throughout your pregnancy journey. We aim to provide person centred care and it is apparent this has been achieved, I will ensure I share your comments to Mieke.

I will also share your feedback with the BGH midwives and thank you for taken the time to complete this.

Kind Regards

Kirsteen Guthrie
