"Reassurance compassion and kindness"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Outpatients Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 26, 27, 61 & 62 )

(as the patient),

I was at GRI outpatient post surgery clinic for, what I thought was a routine dressing change, after surgery in March. To my surprise the surgeon said they wanted me re admitted and that there was a strong possibility of more surgery. To say I was surprised was an understatement. Audrey realised my shock and bewilderment and took time to sit with me and encourage me and reassure me that yes, it was a surprise but I could get through it and I’d receive the very best of care .

Thank you.

Dear ADEMed, thank you for getting in touch about the care you received during your treatment in our orthopaedic clinic and sorry to hear of the unexpected requirement for you to be admitted. This would be understandably upsetting and I am glad our staff were able to reassure you and that you felt well cared for.

best wishes in your recovery

John Carson
