"Dire service"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

Whilst staff laughed and joked in the corridor, the people waiting patiently watched and many made negative comments about the service in general . It was clear that the GP was working hard to clear his patients whilst we remained ignored with no information, no eye contact and a background of staff laughing and chatting. A frightening and disappointing experience which didn't get better as the person i was supporting deteriorated and was eventually admitted. There was a general attitude when you asked for help that they were all too busy and that this meant they had no time for compassion or eye contact and it was clear that there was no interest in talking to relatives. This has continued on the ward so i assume its part of the general approach of the organisation to delivering healthcare.
