"Broken arm"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Northern Ireland Ambulance Service Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick children / Trauma & Orthopaedics

(as a service user),

Thank you to everyone who cared for my 12 year old son  on Saturday in Craigavon Area Hospital. From the ambulance service (Gary & Jay) & (Gail & William) to the staff in Craigavon A&E - his consultant John, nurses Aisling, Orlagh & the numerous others that I didn't quite get their name. You were all amazing in caring for him with his fractured arm until he was transferred to the Royal for surgery. Thank you to the staff in The Royal Children's Hospital who cared for him- The nurses in the Short Stay ward, especially Marian were especially patient with him. Thank you to the orthopaedic surgery team for the , especially Scott who explained everything to him really well. He's recovering well at home with 2x plates and pins in his arm. You all do a tremendous job. Thank you

Dear loumcqui,

Thank you for sharing your valued feedback regarding the care provided by NI Ambulance Service staff. It was so reassuring to hear about the compassion and professionalism of Gary, Jay, Gail and William. I am so glad to hear that your son is recovering well at home. I would like to share you feedback with the staff and in order to do so I would need a few more details about the time and location of the call. If you would like to provide more details, please contact me directly at neil.gillan@nias.hscni.net.

Best wishes

Neil

Dear loumcqui,

Many thanks for your very generous words of acknowledgement for the staff and the work they do.

I have shared your comments with the teams in RBHSC who were involved in your son's time with us and they pass on their heartfelt thanks to you for taking the time to provide them with such glowing feedback and recognition.

Your son obviously sustained quite a nasty injury and I am sure it was a terribly worrying time for you all.

We all wish him well, and that he makes a full and speedy recovery and gets back to being 100% himself again!

Ciaran
