"Awful practice"

About: The Barkantine Practice

This practice is awful. Was told I would be contacted about test results in 7 days and was never contacted even after a month.

I tried ringing the reception and they are the rudest and most dismissive people I've ever spoken to, it's like they don't even realise they have people's health at stake. They said they have my results but won't tell me or book an appointment to talk to a gp whilst on the phone instead they were obviously trying to get rid of me and send me away to book one myself online. The whole time in a tone that was making it out like i was stupid for calling.

Unfortunately my results came back alarmingly bad and it makes me wonder what would have happened if I trusted them and waited for them to contact me. I could easily have forgotten about it and lived as if I was healthy when I clearly wasn't. I later found out there is a filing system and they go through what needs to be followed up because there are risks and what is normal and doesn't need a follow up, this was obviously not done in my case over 2 sets of tests.

I've read all the other comments that mention the rudeness of the reception staff being an issue and the Complaint’s Manager saying nothing can be done because the comments are anonymous and to call her but the number given takes you straight to the reception staff in question! If they're already that dismissive and rude (I've been hung up on in the past) I don't feel comfortable them knowing my identity so they can bump me down in the queue for medical situations in future since they're already so unprofessional I wouldn't put it past them!

The reception is a huge problem for all of us, why do you need to know who we are to sort that out?
