"My NRC stay"

About: Neurological Rehabilitation Centre / Inpatient Unit

(as the patient),

The nursing staff here have been very good at looking after me and meeting my needs, they are quick to respond when you need help with anything.

I have enjoyed going to gym sessions regularly as it has really helped me to improve my legs and my walking but I feel that sometimes the staff can be a little busy and not enough staff to support the patients, perhaps sticking to more specific slots to come to the gym would work better as then everyone gets an equal amount of time with the therapists.

I have become more independent with daily activities with help from the occupational therapists. The whole place is kept very clean and there are always housekeeping staff around keeping on top of this.

I would like to say thank you to all the staff here who have helped me on this journey, I am very very appreciative.

Dear velahe58,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the NRC, we really appreciate the feedback. We are really pleased to hear you enjoyed working with different therapists and received good care from the nursing staff.

In regards to your feedback on therapy staff being busy at times, we can offer 1:1 sessions outside of gym time (runs from 10-12:30 Mon-Fri) which are detailed on the individual timetables that we give to our patients weekly but we don't have the staff to offer these daily. Because of your feedback, we will discuss with patients who would benefit from these individual sessions to see if this would be a preferred option.

If you have any further feedback you would like to share with us, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Thank you again.

Dear velahe58,

I am pleased to inform you that we have made a change to our physiotherapy gym sessions in response to your feedback and feedback from others.

Our gym sessions are a lot more structured now with two separate session times (10-11 and 11-12) in order to give our patients at least one hour of intensive physiotherapy each day. This has helped to reduce the amount of time that patients are waiting in between exercises.

The response we have received from this has been positive, with patients feeding back that they feel it that it is working well and improving the quality of their physiotherapy.
