"Lack of follow up after long hospital stay."

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Stroke care (Wards 56 and 68)

(as the patient),

I was admitted to hospital in March 2021. After about 2  weeks I was transferred to the local ward  (I think it was ward 56 ). It was at that point I had my leg broken and this had a detrimental affect on my body. My total stay in hospital was 17 weeks and then I was told that I could go home as long as my wife took care of me. I have been home every since, with no visit from my doctor, and my condition is getting worse. My advice would be to stay away from the stroke team.

Dear Zwag

Please accept my apologies for the delay in replying to your post.

Thank you for your post on Care Opinion. I am very sorry to hear about your lengthy hospital stay and your broken leg. Can you please contact my colleague, Joan Edge, who is the Clinical Service Manager, on 0141 211 3164 to discuss your discharge?

As you have mentioned that your condition is getting worse can you please contact your GP for advice?

Thank you

Nicole
