I would like to share our overdue thanks for the care given to our late Mother - Janet. She passed away in the hospital on the evening in January - she was 88 years of age. I think she was in Ward 1 South during her final admission.
My Mother's health declined quickly late last year to the point that I brought her to A&E beginning December. She was in hospital until end of December when she was discharged to a nursing home. She caught an infection and was readmitted in January until her passing.
What I would like to highlight is how caring and helpful your staff were during both of these admissions. We would either call for an update on our Mother's situation or your staff would call us. Increasingly it became obvious that it was the final stage of our Mother's life.
Both nurses and doctors alike gave us the time we needed in all of these calls. We were never hurried and they all gave us their full attention. This may seem simple but it meant lots to us as there were periods when we were unable to visit due to the changing COVID measures.
We would to pass on our special thanks to the staff in Ward 1 South. In particular to Dr Chris - apologies we don't know his surname. He helped guide us through our Mother's final days with the utmost professionalism, sincerity and thoughtfulness of her needs.
"Thank you for the care given to my late Mother"
