I had a consultation with my local GP and less than an hour after phoning them about my increasing difficulty with breathing during any activity, even just getting dressed. The thought it would be best for me to be admitted into Craigavon area hospital so that they are able to investigate the possibility of blood clots or lung cancer. My GP was great as they were able to contact them to expect me.
My sister drove me to hospital and I arrived at about 1:30pm. I was seen immediately by a lovely nurse and was examined by the doctor.
Within 8 hours I was thoroughly examined, had an X-ray, ECG and CT scan. Their opinion was that I was suffering a blood clot.
I am preparing to go into surgery, the staff are very kind and they have been very supportive and are always keeping my family up-to-date with all that is happening. Everyone I have seen has been so attentive and kind. To have been given so much attention and investigation in such a short time and be diagnosed, in my opinion, quite amazing and I cannot praise everyone who saw me too highly. My heartfelt thanks to everyone concerned. I have great trust with the doctors and nurses here in Craigavon and know that I am in safe hands
