"Couldn't have asked for a better team"

I just want to say how happy I have been with my care during my short stay at YDH. I had an elective caesarean a few days ago. It was very efficient from the get go, the theatre team were amazing, very chatty and put me at ease!

I’m rubbish with names but the anaesthetist (they called him Dr Lovely which was fitting) was brilliant, very down to earth and made me comfortable along with the rest of the team. 

My aftercare team were amazing, total polar opposite experience to my first born! My first contact was with Tara (possibly Cara?) and Charlotte the HCA who were both so lovely, very informative and caring, couldn’t help more!

Then my overnight care was a midwife called Elkie who really stood out to me, helped me cup feed my little boy in the middle of the night, very down to earth, very open and chatty and a calming presence during my time. I can’t remember the name of the midwife that took over in the morning and did my discharge but once again so kind and caring.

I couldn’t have asked for a better team to look after me and my boy. If my labour and birth had been anything like my first I was sure this would be my last child, but I’m now broody as ever and feel optimistic about the idea of more children. I felt teary leaving after such a short stay.

After my first born I wanted to join the midwifery team as I felt like I could give some of the compassion and comfort that I craved my first stay, this time I still want to join once my boys are older but this time I’m craving to be part of the amazing team that cared for us from start to finish.
