"COVID Vaccine Centre"

About: NHS Fife / COVID-19 Vaccination Service

(as a relative),

Today I called in at the Vaccine Centre on Kirkcaldy High Street with a query regarding my elderly mother not having received an appointment for her spring vaccine. The young care assistant at the door listened to my question and explained why there might have been a delay in my mother (aged in her 90's) receiving her appointment but she also went and spoke to someone else who subsequently came and spoke to me. I was offered the option of bringing my mother to the centre later in the day when car parking on the high street meant easy access to the centre.

I subsequently found that my mother had that morning received her appointment but it was at a ridiculously early  time (8.50am) for someone of her age!

I took my mother to the centre for 5pm today, I hadn’t appreciated it was a drop in clinic. The staff, without exception, were professional, kind and helpful. The service was seamless and delivered with care.

Congratulations on such a positive experience… I noticed that all the staff I had seen at 11am were still in evidence at 5pm and their kindness was still in place.

Dear Marion52,

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I will share your feedback with the team at M&S Kirkcaldy. It was lovely to hear about your positive experience and so I'm so pleased that the staff listened to you and what your Mum's needs were.

Thank you again, Pippa - Team Leader for M&S.
